Bjarg's projects

Bjarg's mission is to provide tenants with secure homes for long-term rent. The company has made agreements with various municipalities in Iceland for building and renting apartments, discussions are also at an early stage in other municipalities.

1049 tenants have already received their apartments.

Projects in process

  • Húsavík, Lyngholt 42-52, 6 apartments. The apartments are scheduled to be ready for rent in April 2025. 
  • Mosfellsbær, Úugata 10-12, 24 apartments. Constructions started in March 2025 and the first apartments are expected to be ready for rent in October 2025. The project is estimated to be fully accomplished in June 2026.
  • Safamýri 58 - 60 (by Háleitisbraut), Reykjavík. 36 apartments. Constructions started in October 9th 2024 and the apartments are expected to be ready for rent in June 2026. The project is estimated to be fully accomplished in July 2026. Applications will open in the summer of 2025. 
  • Akureyri, Langimói 1-3, 16 apartments. Constructions started in April 2025 and the first apartments are expected to be ready for rent in July 2026. The project is estimated to be fully accomplished in November 2026. Applications will open in the October 2025.

  • Hella, Lyngalda 4A, 5 apartments. Project started in April 2024. The apartments were ready in January 2025. 
  • Akranes, Asparskógar 3, 24 apartments. The project was fully accomplished summer 2024.
  • Hvolsvöllur, Hallgerðartún 69-75, 4 apartments. The project was fully accomplished summer 2024.
  • Hafnarfjörður (in Hamranes), 148 apartments. The project was fully accomplished in October 2023.
  • Garðabær, Maríugata 5 (Urriðaholti), 22 apartments. The project was fully accomplished in March 2023.

  • Tangabryggja 5, Bryggjuhverfi, Reykjavík, 79 apartments. The starting point of June 2020. The project was fully accomplished in July 2022.

  • Silfratjörn, Úlfarsársdalur in Reykjavík, 66 apartments. The first tenants moved in September 1st 2020. The project was fully accomplished in October 2021.
  • Akureyri, Gudmannshagi 2 and 4, 31 apartments. The first tenants moved in November 1st 2020. The project was fully accomplished in April 2021.
  • Hraunbær 153-163 in Reykjavík, 79 apartments. The first tenants moved in November 1st, 2020. The project was fully accomplished in March 2020.
  • Hallgerðargata 2-16 in Reykjavík, 64 apartments. The first tenants moved in November 1st, 2020. The project was fully accomplished in April 2021.
  • Þorlákshöfn, Sambyggð 14b, 12 apartments. All apartments were ready in October 2020.
  • Urðarbrunnur 33, 130-132, Úlfarsársdalur in Reykjavík, 66 apartments. The first tenants moved in, in August 2019. The project was fully accomplished in April 2020.
  • Móavegur 2-12, Grafarvogur in Reykjavík, 124 apartments. The first tenants moved in, in June 2019.
