People from Grindavík can apply at Bjarg íbúðafélag and be considered for the allocation of new apartments.
9 apartments at Áshamar 52, 221 Hafnarfjörður The apartments are ready for rent. Two apartments available, open for application.
18 apartments at Dalsbraut 1, Inni Njarðvík, 260 Reykjanesbær
23 apartments at Keilisholt 1, 190 Vogar. Two 4-bedroom apartments available, open for application.

Applicants are asked to fill in information about union, family size, etc. The cost of registration on the waiting list at Bjarg is ISK. 1,500 and the registration fee will be refunded if there is no allocation.
In order to receive an allocation you must have been active on the labor market and a member of one of the unions within ASÍ or BSRB for a minimum of 16 out of the last 24 months and under a certain income- and property limit.
Allocations at Bjarg in connection with apartments purchased for residents of Grindavík are based on:

If it is not possible to allocate to an applicant who is below the income and property limits according to Article 10 the owner of the apartment is allowed to rent it to a tenant who exceeds the income and property limits. Market rent may be demanded. However, such contracts must not be for a period longer than one year.
