Environment

The municipality's infrastructure is very strong and all major services can be found in Þorlákshöfn. There has been a great deal of development in sports facilities and both kindergartens and elementary schools are of the highest quality. Short distances between places allow children to walk safely to school and leisure activities. Good and easy transport is from Þorlákshöfn. It takes only 30 minutes to drive to Reykjavík from Thorlákshöfn.
